Recipe ingredients

For the Pia Pia sauce:

25 gr. tomato paste

50 ml of water

100 ml of orange juice

1½ teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

3 tablespoons brown sugar

30 ml vinegar

teaspoon salt

teaspoon hot chili

For Burger:

400 gr. minced meat of your choice

50 gr. spicy salami, cut into small pieces

2 tablespoons ketchup

1½ teaspoon smoked paprika

¾ teaspoon cumin

Salt and Pepper

2 buns for burger

2 slices of emmental or cheddar cheese

2 fried eggs (optional)

Recipe Directions

1. To make the sauce, put the tomato paste, water, the orange juice, the paprika, the cumin, the brown sugar, the vinegar, the salt and the chili in a small saucepan. Put on high heat and let the mixture boil. Then, lower the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

2. To make the burgers, in a bowl put the minced meat, the salami, the ketchup, the paprika, the cumin, the salt and the pepper. Mix until our ingredients are combined. Form the meat into 2 big burgers.

3. Heat a large pan / grill over high heat. We cook the burgers as we like them to be cooked. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheese to each burger.

4. Heat the buns in the grill and then spread them with a little sauce Pia-Pia. At the bottom of the bun, place the burger, the salads, the sauce again, on top place a fried egg and chips. Place the top bun, grab the burger with both hands and eat it!
