Excellent Spetzofai with feta | Stavros Varthalitis

Products used in the recipe

Recipe ingredients

- 500 gr. pork sausage

- 4 horn peppers

- 2 florin peppers

- 1 pinch of bukovo

- 1 tablespoon tomato paste

- 800 gr. tomatoes

- 1 tablespoon sugar

- Salt


For serving

- 100 gr. feta (greek cheese)

- Fresh oregano

- Bread

Recipe Directions

1. On the cutting board, cut the sausage and at the same time put the casserole over heat.

2. Put the sausage in the pot without oil and cook for 5-6 minutes until crispy. Remove the sausage from the casserole.

3. After we have washed them well, cut the peppers into large irregular pieces, remove the seeds and add them to the casserole to be cooked in the oil from the sausage. Add the salt and put the lid on the pan.

4. After 2-3 minutes, add the tomato paste and sauté. Put the sausage again, the sugar and grate the tomatoes in the pot. If the tomatoes are not juicy enough, add water.

5. After 4-5 minutes add the fresh oregano and the thyme. Mix, turn off the heat and sprinkle with bukovo.

6. Serve with feta, fresh oregano and bread.
