Choose cookware with only 5 questions

nava

It's time to refresh your kitchen, but do you know what cookware to buy and what cooking utensils to invest in? We have prepared a shopping guide for cooking utensils and tools, as long as you answer the following questions carefully... Getting started?

1) What do I need?

It may sound obvious but the first step to buying is to clarify your own need. Do you fry often or do you mainly work on the oven / grill? Are you a pastry chef or do you prefer speed in your recipes? How about a utensil that serves as a pot, roaster and grill? Do you want a complete cooking set, which has a special design or do you need very specific cooking tools, such as an egg cutter or a jar opener? Decide what your goal is and head towards it!

2) Do I want something durable?

Who does not want something durable for their daily cooking? Certainly, the strength of the roaster, the pot, the presurre cooker and the pan is very important and greatly affects their price, almost as much as the construction material. A durable utensil will not be scratched with daily use, will not alter its surface and will last for a long time.

So, if you are looking for something extremely durable, stainless steel cookware is definitely the most popular choice. Our suggestion is the ‘Acer’ stainless steel pressure cooker, an excellent quality utensil that can last for decades!

Cast aluminum cookware is also durable and a great choice! Aluminum does not rust and through the anodizing acquires a hard outer casing, which is resistant to corrosion and scratches. We recommend the low pressure cooker "Funtzio" made of cast aluminum with non-stick coating.

Also, cast iron utensils are of excellent quality, have a long life and durability, but will need special care, the so-called seasoning or burning (seasoning). Read more about the care of non-stick utensils from here.

Finally, non-stick pans and pots have great durability depending on the material of their core. If it is made of stainless steel, aluminum or copper, this gives them different characteristics! It is always legitimate to know the durability of the coating, as non-stick cookware is generally not suitable for very high temperatures and is also easy to scratch. The purchase of non-stick utensils is almost necessary, the examination of their durability is done more for reasons of proper maintenance and selection of the best, than to decide if they suit us.

3) I want a economical pan / economical pot, is it possible?

The most economical utensils, which are at the same time and of high quality are made of anodized aluminum, follow the utensils made of stainless steel. Non-stick coatings can be quite economical, while what determines the price is the material of the non-stick coating.

We recommend the new range of NAVA Taurus cookware with 5 non-stick stone coatings and specially designed ergonomic handles for easy handling.

4) Uniform and fast heating?

The better the duct material of the cookware, the faster it reacts to the change in temperature and the more evenly its surface is heated. The following utensils harmoniously combine these two elements…

Stainless steel is not a material that offers fast and uniform heating, since the heat is not the same everywhere. Of course, the popular NAVA stainless steel pots have a reinforced bottom with an aluminum layer and uniform thermal conductivity, build quality without compromising on food quality.

Copper pots are at the forefront of heat transfer, while adapting quickly to temperature changes. Finally, the non-stick cookware cooks evenly and provides protection from burning food!

Considering the speed of adaptation to temperature changes, the fastest utensils in the rise and fall of the temperature are the copper utensils, the utensils with aluminum coating and the utensils made of titanium. Cast iron utensils, on the other hand, are extremely slow to warm up and extremely slow to cool.

5) Do I want sets or separate pieces?

The above depends entirely on our needs and how well equipped our kitchen is. If one wants to equip a kitchen from scratch, then definitely needs a set, while if one is just looking to replace an utensil then it is legitimate to look for individual pieces.

See our proposal for a value for money set of kitchen utensils.
