5 healthy "mocktails" after the holidays

nava

The Easter holidays are just over and the stomachs speak for themselves. Once again, alcohol and food starred at the Easter tables, while the need for a detox is greater than ever! What can you do about it? Discover mocktails, the healthy alternative to your favorite cocktails!

What is a mocktail? Basically, a mocktail is a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail. But they are really fun drinks that the whole family could enjoy, especially after the holidays, when food and drink had their place of honor. Some are based on cocktail recipes, others are fruity preparations and others are a little more refined. These mocktails are ideal for serving children and adults and many of them would be ideal for a baby shower or birthday party. Here are some original suggestions for this Spring!

Cranberry/Pink spritz

Fill a glass with crushed ice and add 200 ml of cranberry (or pink grapefruit) juice, along with the juice of one lime. Pour 50ml soda on top, which will give the feeling of a champagne drink, and a slice of orange, grapefruit or lemon for garnish.

Virgin Sangria

The non-alcoholic version of the sangria is even lighter than the simple sangria, the ideal choice for every hour! Take a jug and pour in 750ml of alcohol-free wine, an orange, a lemon, a sliced lime and a glass of cold orange juice. Mix the ingredients well and put the jug in the fridge for at least two hours. Add ice, 1/2 glass of soda and you are ready!

Virgin Frozen Margaritas

A little sour and a little sweet, these Virgin Frozen Margaritas are made in a few minutes and are extremely tasty for the whole family! Put the sugar in a shallow dish. Rub the edge of the 4 glasses with the lime and then dip the lips in the coarse sugar.

Combine the lime juice, the orange juice, the grapefruit juice and the ice cubes in a blender and mix. Pour into glasses with plenty of crushed ice and serve.

Cucumber Limeade

Put the sugar in a shallow dish. Rub the edge of the 4 glasses with the lime wedge and then dip the lips in the coarse sugar.

Mix the sugar, the lime zest and the water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the mint leaves. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Strain the lime syrup through a sieve and mix with the lime juice and cucumber. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. When ready to serve, add the carbonated water. Serve over a lot of ice!

Νοjito ή αλλιώς virgin Mojito

Mojito cocktail is a traditional Cuban cocktail, perhaps the most popular cocktail in the world! In a special cocktail glass, press the limes, the sugar and mint with the pestle. Fill the glass with crushed ice, add the soda, the lime juice and stir lightly. Garnish with a top of mint (4-5 leaves with the trunk). The favorite nojito is ready and without a trace of alcohol!

Enjoy!
