Sesame salmon burgers with lemon by Athena Loizidou

Products used in the recipe

Recipe ingredients

For salmon burgers:

650 gr. salmon fillet without skin

2 tablespoons red curry paste

2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated

¼  teaspoon garlic, finely chopped (optional)

salt and pepper

1 pinch of chili flakes

70 gr. sesame seeds


For the yogurt with lemon:

200 gr. yoghurt

½ teaspoon chili flakes

lemon juice

salt and pepper


For the salad with herbs:

90 gr. mixed fresh herbs such as coriander and parsley, finely chopped

10 gr. olive oil

5 gr. balsamic vinegar

20 gr. honey

salt and pepper


To serve:

thick slices of fresh bread, toasted


Recipe Directions

1. Cut the salmon into very small pieces to make minced salmon. Then put it in a bowl and mix it with the curry paste, the ginger, the garlic, salt, pepper and a pinch of chili flakes. Form 3 or 4 burgers.

2. Put the sesame seeds in a shallow bowl and cover both sides of the burgers with the sesame seeds.

3. Meanwhile, make the yogurt with lemon mixing all ingredients in a bowl.

4. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Place the burgers in the pan and bake them for about 20 minutes.

5. To make the salad with the herbs: Put the herbs in a small bowl. Mix the oil, the vinegar, the honey, salt and pepper. Just before serving, mix the herbs with the salad dressing.

6. To serve, spread each piece of bread with yogurt. Add a little salad, after the burger and a little more salad with herbs. Enjoy!
